Earth Day! (16 - 19 Apr)

Dear boys,

Do take note of the following Earth Day activities that will take place in school over the next few days.



1. Fans Off Everyday (F.O.E) (16 - 19 Apr)

Earth Hour - All the fans in the classroom will be switched off for 15 mins everyday from 7.45 - 8 a.m. Groups on duty & class captains, kindly ensure that from Tuesday - Friday this week.


2. Protect our Environment Assembly Talk by National Geographic Explorer (16 Apr)

It will take place from 12.45 - 1.45 p.m.

Focus of talk:
-   to raise awareness on human activities which lead to global warming and extinction of organisms
-   changing our lifestyle which can help minimize the harm on the environment.

3. Screening of Earth-themed documentaries & quiz @ Library (16 Apr)
Pupils watch a documentary, answer quiz and collect a stamp Watch four documentaries on four consecutive days and receive 4 stamps.
Redeem tokens for completed cards.

4. Bring Your Own Containers (16 - 19 Apr)
To minimise the use of styrofoam and other disposable containers, all of you are strongly encouraged to bring your own recyclable food containers, spoons/forks/chopsticks if you are buying packed food from the school canteen stalls.
Pupils who bring their own containers to buy food will receive a coupon from the stall vendors. Pupils will write their names on the back of each coupon and drop it into the box provided in the office. Winners will receive a token for being a FRIEND of the EARTH.
Tokens will be awarded to 10 top winners who have dropped the most number of coupons into the box. Some boys may get more than 1 coupon per day as they may eat lunch in the canteen after school.
5. Collection of used plastic bottles & paper (17 – 19 Apr)
Each pupil will bring at least one used plastic bottle (washed and dried) and collect used paper. A trash bag & a recycling box will be issued to the class from Wed – Fri to deposit the items.
6. Amazing Science Trail (19 Apr)
7.45 – 8.45 a.m. To be carried out in groups around the school.
